INDEPENDENT SECURITY REVIEW

Cybersecurity Assessment for Denver Businesses

Shield with magnifying glass beside a security checklist, representing a cybersecurity assessment for Denver businesses

A cybersecurity assessment shows you, in writing, how well your business is protected today and what to fix first. 24uNet's Independent Security Review checks your Microsoft 365 sign-ins, devices, email, backups, network and incident response line by line against our written Security Baseline. Nothing to install, no admin access needed to start, and the findings are yours to keep whether or not you hire us.

Cybersecurity assessment or IT security audit: which do you need?

People search for both, and they mean slightly different things. An audit usually checks you against a formal standard for a client, insurer or contract. An assessment is for you: where are the gaps, and which ones matter most? Our review is an assessment first. If you also need to answer a client or insurer questionnaire or prepare for CMMC Level 1, we can map the findings to those requirements. It's independent, so it works even if you already have an IT provider.

What we review

  • Microsoft 365 and identity: MFA enforcement, admin accounts, risky sign-ins, inbox rules and forwarding, conditional access in Intune.

  • Devices: Windows patching, endpoint protection, disk encryption, local admin rights, devices nobody manages.

  • Email: filtering, spoofing protection and how a fake invoice or payment change would get caught.

  • Backups: what is backed up, where copies live, and whether a restore has actually been tested. See business continuity.

  • Network and remote access: firewall rules and firmware, VPN and remote access, guest Wi-Fi separation and web filtering. See network security review.

  • Detection and response: who sees an alert at 2am on a Saturday, and what happens next.

  • People and process: offboarding, phishing awareness and a written incident response plan.

What you get

  • Written, plain-English findings for each area, ranked by risk.

  • A short list of the first fixes to make, so you know where to start.

  • A side-by-side comparison with the 24uNet Security Baseline you can take to your current IT provider.

  • A walkthrough of the findings with Dane Gray or our team.

  • No obligation. The findings are yours to keep.

If you want help closing the gaps, 24uNet can put the Security Baseline in place, including 24/7 managed detection and response with security analysts reviewing alerts.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cybersecurity assessment?
A cybersecurity assessment is a line-by-line review of how your business is protected today: Microsoft 365 sign-ins, devices, email, backups, network and incident response. 24uNet compares what you have against our written Security Baseline and gives you plain-English findings you keep.

What is the difference between a cybersecurity assessment and an IT security audit?
An audit usually checks you against a formal standard for someone else. Our assessment is for you: it shows where your protection has gaps and what to fix first. If you need to prepare for CMMC Level 1 or answer a client or insurer questionnaire, we can map the findings to those requirements.

Do I need to install anything for the review?
No. The review starts with a conversation and a walkthrough with your team. Nothing is installed and we don't need admin access to start.

Is the review independent if we already have an IT provider?
Yes. Most firms we talk to already have IT support. The findings are written so you can take them to whoever protects you today and ask which lines they deliver.

What happens after the assessment?
You get written findings ranked by risk. You can fix them yourself, hand them to your current provider or ask 24uNet to put the Security Baseline in place, including 24/7 managed detection and response with security analysts reviewing alerts.

Do you offer cybersecurity assessments outside Denver?
Yes. We work across the Denver metro, Colorado Springs and the Front Range from Colorado, and in Bryan, College Station and the Brazos Valley from our College Station office.
